CABARET

Participating in the crossroads cabaret has been something that I have enjoyed doing since kindergarten. Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences hosts a major Cabaret show every three years, featuring unique themes. This event brings our community together, allowing us to share stories and reflect on what it means to be a Crossroadsian. This year, I had the opportunity to play Mary Katherine Gallagher from SNL at Crossroads Cabaret's The Eras Tour.

The show was filled with references to various eras of Crossroads. To prepare for the role, I watched every performance of Mary on SNL by Molly Shannon. Of course, in the movie SuperStar, I would write down what I noticed in a notebook so I could have background and motives for who she is and what makes Mary Mary. It was the best experience, and I enjoyed the challenge of becoming an iconic character. I felt that I did Mary justice and am super proud of that work!
